Celtic boys club’s fine form continued, after an entertaining match which ended in an 8 – 2 victory for the home side. Both sides playing good football, showing their physical side, with the game never getting out of hand. Celtic started the better and took the lead, Michael McDowalls long throw went over the away defense finding James Pollock free to strike home the opener. Minutes later it was 2, a great through ball from Ryan Clark sent Jordan Davidson clear, outpacing the chasing defense his well placed strike finding the back of the net 2-0. For all the play the young hoops had Southside were playing very well and without some good work by Dylan Harvey and his defense the visitors would be on level terms. With the defense keeping them out, the forwards confidence was growing and the third duly arrived, good work on the right from Sean Malarkey his pass finding Ryan Sheilds, whose inch perfect pass found Davidson his cool finish making it 3.

The Southside team who hadn’t play badly in the first half seemed more hungrier after the break and with some dangerous attacking play scored within five minutes of the restart. A fine shot, deflected, heading for goal was some how tipped onto the bar by Harvey, the onrushing forward sent his shot goal bound again Harvey saved brilliantly but the third attempt from six yards found the back of the net. 3 – 1. Southside now on top and were rewarded again for their offensive play. A mix up in the home defence allowed the Southside attacker to score after the home defense failed to clear. 3 – 2. Celtic now struggling against a strong attack but somehow managed some daylight again when Kyle Ckrystal’s long clearance found Davidson, his pace was too much for the away defense, his shot partially saved before completing his hat trick. 4 – 2. This deflated the away side after getting back into the match, the home team sensed this and upped their game. Sam Brannan and Mark McGhee linking well on the right with Jack Gorman and Sean Reilly on the left their play was overwhelming the away side . Kieran Barkeys defense splitting pass found Davidson, his run taking him by three defenders before squaring to Pollock to score from close range 5 – 2. Reilly was the provider for number six his delightful pass sending Davidson clear the finish superb 6 – 2. The Celts made it seven McGhee and Reilly’s quick corner, the latter’s cross finding the head of captain for the day McDowall his header beating the onrushing keeper 7 – 2. Pollock finished the scoring leaving the best to last his unstoppable strike finding the roof of the net completing yet another hat trick for the young striker. 8 – 2.
