| Celtic had to fight all the way in this hard fought win against a skillful and well organized Hillwood team. The game, mostly played in midfield had few chances, and only a Mark McGhee strike, well saved, was the only shot on either goal in the first 15 minutes. Hillwood well marshaled by their small number 4, what he lacked in height made up for with skill and played a brilliant role for his side. Celtic eventually took the lead after 20 minutes, a long throw from Michael McDowall found Ryan Clark, he beat two before releasing the ball, finding Jordan Davidson his shot finding the back of the net 1 – 0 .The game with few chances with both defenses playing well finished with the home side just in front.

Celtic came out after the break and immediately scored, James Pollock’s stunning strike caught the Hillwood boys completely by surprise, the ball from kick off found Polllock who from 20 yards unleashed a strike that flew high into the net giving the away keeper no chance 2 – 0. Mark McGhee was the next to try his luck, spotting the keeper of his line, his 40 yard shot hitting the outside of the post with the keeper beat. Jack Gorman pushed up into midfield from full back was marauding down the left with purpose and his 20 yard strike well saved. Hillwood were given a way back into the game, Michael McDowall and the pacy number 9 challenging for the ball in the box, the latter falling to the ground, penalty !!! The home team and support dumbfounded by the decision. The away team a chance to get back into the game, the penalty well taken 2 – 1. Celtic now annoyed were soon on the attack, and a brilliant run from Clark ghosting past three his cross from the left finding Sean MacLean his pass to Davidson whose well taken shot sending his team in to 3 – 1 lead. Jack Gorman was next up a mazy run creating space, his shot on the edge of the box finding the top corner 4 – 1. Celtic were well in front with Gorman and Clark dominating the midfield and with the game finishing, Gorman’s second, finishing the scoring, a ball in from the right found the midfielder whose scissor kick from 8 yards finding the back of the net 5 – 1, sending the visitors home with nothing but admiration from all, on their hard work, skill and endeavour.
