Sunday 6th September 2009 Glasgow and District Youth Football League

Celtic continued on there winning ways with a convincing 6 - 1 win over Clydebank Juveniles. The hoops started well,James Pollock turning and striking well, bringing a good safe from the away keeper.Jordan Davidson was next to test the keeper, but it was the Clydebank team who took a suprise lead.A clever through ball sent the Clydebank striker through on goal, striking from the edge of the box high into the net giving Celtic goalie Harvey no chance. This sparked Celtic into immediate response, straight from kick off, Sean MacLean bombing down the right found Pollock free his pass inside found Davidson who dispatched the ball past a helpless Clydebank goalie 1-1.The second wasn't far away, a defence splitting pass from Kyle Ckrystal put Sean Reilly in on goal and with the keeper rounded, the ball into the back of the net 2-1 Celtic. 2 became 3 soon after, man of the match Maclean was unplayable his cross found a free Davidson who finished well 3-1. MacLean finished off the half with the fourth, a bit fortunate with his deep cross, hitting the back post and ending up in the net 4-1.

Half Time 4 - 1

The second half began with Clydebank on the attack, trying to get an early goal that would get them back into this game but sub goalie Anton Black wasn't having any of it, saving well on a couple of occasions to deny the Bankies any sniff of a goal.Mark McGhee was showing some promise, and had an early shot, well saved. Some "shin" magic was to end in a goal,Ryan Clark aka shin a nickname his team mates gave him, comparing him to the Japanese maestro Nakamura. He played in McGhee, whose weighted pass found Davidson, who finished easily from 6 yards 5-1.The game, now into its final minutesbut with one final attack MacLean tearing down the right his brilliant cross finding McGhee unmarked, heading home from close range 6-1. This was an entertaining match, Clydebank played well and will be a match for any team in the league, the score didn't flatter Celtic, but they had to work very hard against a well organised and skillfull Clydebank side.
