CELTS TO THE FOUR

Busby Amateurs 0 Celtic Boys Club 4

Glasgow and District Youth League

Sunday 1st November 2009

Celtic got back to winning ways with a competitive win over Busby, at a rain soaked Stonelaw High School. Celtic started the brighter and with there first attack took the lead. James Pollock pushed over in the box just as he was about to unleash a strike goal wards, the referee without any hesitation pointed to the spot. Jack Gorman, the Celts penalty taker, gave the keeper no chance with his left foot drive. 1-0 Celtic. Pollock’s pace was troubling the home defence, and with the next move his strike just over, after good work from Mark McGhee. McGhee’s next play again released Pollock this time his low drive just past. Celtic now dominating, but their play not being rewarded and the Busby boys were still in this game and Dylan Harvey had to look lively as the away team tried to get on level terms. Jordan Davidson sorely missed from the Rangers game was the next to warm the Busby keepers hands his run and shot well saved. It was all Celtic now and after 30 minutes made it two, McGhee was again instrumental as his run and cross found Pollock at the back post and his neat finish Celtic where now two up.

Half Time Busby 0 Celtic 2

Just like the first half Celtic scored with their first attack, good work from Michael McDowall his 20 yard pass sent Sean MacLean clear, the ball bouncing high off the pitch, MacLean’s volley hammered high into the net, 3-0 Celtic. Busby with still making a game of it and where unlucky not to get one back, Harvey was relieved to see a well taken strike coming of his post and rebounding to safety. Busby now finding confidence with there play but with Kieran Barkey and Kyle Ckrystal in fine form a the heart of the defence where not about to let anything past. With minutes to go Celtic made it four, man of match Gorman’s looping volley sealed the win for the young hoops.
