What can I say about this match we only 9 players who turned up due to holiday's and sickness,so the Bhoy's decided let's go ahead and play the game I must admit I expected our opposition to offer us a couple of boy's to make up the numbers but the offer never came. The Colts kicked off and lost the ball to the Bhoy's and this set the stage for a quite amazing performance from them as they took the game to the Colt's and looked as if they had a man extra instead of being short 2,the standard of attacking play was breathtaking to say the least as attack after attack rained down on the Colt's defence who could not cope with the pace or power of the Bhoy's and it was only a superb performance from their goalkeeper ex Bhoy Alex Harkins that we only led by 1 goal at the break, but what a goal it was as once again we swept up the park with some nice inter play and passing the ball went to wee Scott(jinky)Martin who beat 3 men but was pulled down by the fourth about 20 yds out.Up stepped Jamie Linton with a free kick right out of the Nakamura book of free kick's and he sent the ball into the left hand top corner of the goal what a GOOOAAAL !!!!! on the side lines set of spectators broke into a loud round of applause for a quite magnificent free kick.We started the second as we finished the first with Daryll Ballantyne going close,as did Skipper Thomas Nisbet and Michael Murphy and must give a special mention to Jamie's wee brother Colin Linton who had an outstanding match playing up front as a lone striker but he was never all that much on his own with the way the Bhoy's went about their business, but this game was not all about attack as the Bhoy's at the back Jamie Linton along with Etienne(frenchy)Bresullier and Ross(the boss)Greening were equally as good as the attackers were and it was only in the later stages of the match as the Bhoy's understandingly tired that the Colt's eventually had a couple of chances but Kyle Cooper nephew of the Great Davie Cooper had a couple of superb stops even though he hardly had a lot to do.But to our second goal and it also was another great strike this time from wee Scott who hit a thunderous shot from the edge of the box that exploded into the roof of the net. These kids just keep impressing the hell out of me with their commitment, and never say die attitude and I have to admit that on Sunday I was very close to tears at the end because of their belief in me and playing football the Celtic Boy's Club way I can't thank them enough,THANK YOU ALL BOY'S each and every one of you.
